The comic book version of America Chavez is a relatively new character, having first been introduced in 2011. While she’s actually the second hero to go by the Miss America moniker, she’s the first-ever Latin-American character who is is also a member of the LBGTQ+ community. While the MCU has tweaked some of the backstories of the characters that have appeared in the movies, it appears with this piece of merchandise that Kevin Feige and company are keeping the movie version of America Chavez true to the comic book version.

This particular t-shirt does not officially confirm anything. However, the listing is an officially licensed piece of Doctor Strange 2 merchandise, so that should hint at something. Marvel has not confirmed this part of the character’s backstory, and until it does, this will be more of a hint than anything else.
With Doctor Strange 2 almost exactly five months away from hitting theaters, it could be quite a while before that aspect of the Miss America character is confirmed. On the other hand, Marvel Studios doesn’t seem to be hiding what it has up its sleeve for Doctor Strange 2 characters when it comes to their look in new promotional materials.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be in theaters on May 6, 2022.
