The logo, which combines the existing emblem of the Sanctum Sanctorum and Scarlet Witch’s crown, hints at the two powerful characters uniting at some point in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It has been confirmed for a while that Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff will play an integral part in the Doctor Strange sequel, and the new logo only seems to reaffirm the association.

There haven’t been a lot of leaks related to Doctor Strange 2 so far, which could explain the fan excitement on the hat reveal. The fact that the Scarlet Witch is featured so prominently in the logo being printed on crew merchandise does hint towards how prevalent that character will be in the film. Her crown is blended in perfectly with the Sanctorum windows. Apart from the logo, another image shows a different hat, where the text simply reads, “Marvel Studios Doctor Strange II Stunt Team.”
It was revealed in September that Olsen had wrapped up her scenes for Doctor Strange 2, but the studio is obviously keeping mum about the extent of her involvement in the script. However, with the Multiverse now activated, it won’t be surprising if Olsen’s Scarlet Witch is seen fighting alongside Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme.
Before the film arrives, Doctor Strange will be seen next in Spider-Man: No Way Home, with the trailer confirming that he will be helping Peter Parker cover up his revealed identity. The animated version of the character has already featured in Marvel Studios’ What If…?, with the Disney Plus series setting him up to be one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Many fans believed that Wanda reading through the Dark Hold in the final post-credit scene of WandaVision could have potentially triggered the Multiverse. However, Loki and the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home confirm that it will require more than the Scarlet Witch to activate something so large. More than one hero seems to be involved in the creation of the Multiverse and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will probably deal with the consequences, making it one of the most important projects in Phase 4.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to premiere in theaters on March 25, 2022.
